Education Overview
Education is a key focus for Experience Music Project (EMP), a cultural institution designed to explore the creative process and promote critical thinking. The DoubleTake: From Monet to Lichtenstein exhibition expands our mission, moving beyond innovation and creativity in music to encompass those elements in the visual arts. The following offerings for K-12 students allow educational groups to extend their exploration of the visual arts above and beyond the classroom walls:
> Self-Guided Tours: A school visit to the DoubleTake: From Monet to Lichtenstein exhibition gives secondary students the chance to experience this important exhibition in person. A self-guided tour includes a brief orientation and a private screening of the introductory film before entering the gallery to view the exhibition.
> Investigations: These hands-on, student-centered workshops are designed for students in grades 3-6 and include access to the exhibition. All workshops include a follow-up gallery connection and suggested activities for the classroom to enhance the experience.
> Curriculum Download: Activities are designed to engage secondary students before, during and after your visit to the exhibition. DoubleTake: From Monet to Lichtenstein curriculum focuses specifically on essential learning standards in the art response process, including: description, analysis, interpretation, and evaluation.
